LAIKS DEJOT 2018

The Laiks dejot international contemporary dance festival took place from 2 to 6 June 2018, marking its 20th anniversary since starting in 1998 as a showcase of Latvian choreographers.

  • The 2018 focus was on Latvian contemporary dance, highlighting the diversity of local choreographic work.

  • The festival also featured guest performances from Lithuania, Estonia, and Finland, celebrating their centenary anniversaries alongside Latvia.

  • The program included:

    • Latvian dance showcase

    • 4 international guest performances

    • Masterclasses for experienced dancers

    • Improvisation jam session

  • Over the years, artists from nearly 30 countries have participated, including renowned names such as:

    • Tere O’Connor Dance, Anna Live Young (USA)

    • Ko Murobushi (Japan)

    • Francesco Scavetta, Haugen Productions (Norway)

    • Martin Schick (Switzerland)

    • Hillel Kogan, Yossi Berg, Oded Graf (Israel)
