10:30-12:00 | Žigan Krajnčan Masterclass | Slovenia
ORGANIC ANIMATION - DANCE MASTERCLASS
Organic Animation, led by multidisciplinary artist Žigan Krajnčan, invites participants into a movement workshop that uses principles of Popping dance practice in contemporary way.
Class hyperfocuses on articulation, isolation and coordination of the body parts - fusing together physical and somatic practices.
The session is open for dancers and performers with experience.
Žigan Krajnčan draws from his background in contemporary and urban dance, theatre, music, and performance art. His artistic journey through his successful career, embellished with a series of awards, took him to Brazil, China, India all across Europa, and Africa, where he learned of different cultural patterns that he absorbed, reinvented, and introduced into his own artistic projects with an openness that has always been a calling card of his.
While he choreographs, directs and writes music, his main focus for performing is dancing and singing at the same time, ether as a soloist in theatre, in a band or with big orchestra like Big Band Slovenia and Symphonic orchestra.
12:30-14:00 | Olek Wojcik workshop | Spain
MOMENTUM
Research of the possibilities that can
arrive in play with our mobility between the forces of passive and active
states of equilibrium.
Reconnecting with our roots and stability, balance between our feet, desires that come from within. Diving in to surrender to the stillness of passive and active equilibrium. Researching potential momentum in the seductive hospitality of gravity. Arriving, landing, falling. Connecting with our instinctual adaptable mechanism to explore the possibilities of mobility in the disequilibrium. Building a healthy relationship with our mind and transforming our resistance into momentum.
We will build confidence in the space, work with our backs and travel where the eyes can’t take us to expand our movement vocabulary and search for new experiences.
15:00-16:30 | Yukio Suzuki workshop | Japan
[KEEP STANDING, KEEP COLLAPSING]
This workshop tries to search your body and movement using butoh method.
Suzuki has learned from Murobushi for 10 years and now he would like to share his work and method.
"I
learned many things from Butoh. And Butoh has many possibilities for
dance nowadays as well. So I want to take over the idea and method of
Butoh and develop it by myself. I want to perform for the contemporary
because Butoh has influenced much of contemporary dance and performance
in the world. I think Butoh is always confronting in this day and age.“
